Project Assistant Anna K. Windisch is awarded the Fulbright Prize for American Studies for her PhD thesis

The Fulbright Prize is based on an annual competition managed by the Austrian Association for American Studies (AAAS) and recognizes the best thesis in American Studies. The Fulbright Prize is a means of acknowledging the enduring importance of American Studies and the role of innovative research by young Austrian scholars in contributing to the fulfillment of the Fulbright Program’s mandate to promote mutual understanding between the peoples of Austria and the United States of America.

This year’s Fulbright Prize in American Studies will be awarded to Anna K. Windisch for her doctoral thesis “’Waltzing on Broadway’: Cultural Transfers in Silent Film Music between Vienna and New York” (University of Vienna). Windisch will be honored for their achievements at this year’s conference of the Austrian Association for American Studies at the University of Vienna in November 2018.
